Return of the Divine Feminine and Beltane reminder

Happy Spring!

Reminder:  Beltane Celebration tomorrow, May 1.  Rain is predicted.  If it rains, we will be inside in the Welcome House at Still Point. I have done a lot of preparing, so please do come ahead. I even made traditional Oat Cakes!

I wanted to write today about activism.  Do you feel like you want to be doing something to improve our current political mess,  but don’t know what it is?
There are so many issues to focus on where do you start? How do you choose?

Jan Phillips, author, activist, visionary once said:

“Find the thing that breaks your heart the most and work on that issue”.

One issue is our environment.  I think of it as the abuse of mother earth herself. The earth does not need saving, but she does need our love.  In fact, this is true of most situations and people;  they don’t need us to “save or fix them”. If we loved and honored them, we would be naturally moved to help or serve in a way comparable to our skills, ability and available time and energy. For example, there are local sustainability projects in most communities that work at creating a sustainabile community. They always need volunteers.

My issue is women’s rights. What I mean by that is Women’s right to EXIST and not be silenced, marginalized, trafficked, or abused.

I once ran a domestic violence and rape crisis center.  I saw a lot. One of my women friends said “does that happens here in Saratoga?” There is often disbelief and denial about the reality of violence against women.

As a woman on a deep spiritual path who is attempting to understand my own spiritual center and heritage,  I am passionate about the Divine Feminine and bringing her back into her rightful place in our consciousness. For me,  the deepest and most painful wound of all is HER erasure from history.
If we had more respect for the feminine, would there be as much violence?

My life would have been very different if I had been taught the truth by the church about the role of women and the Essenes around Jesus. I have a strong place in my heart for Jesus and  am not suggesting he should be replaced, but surely, he had a feminine counterpart and that was Mary Magdalene.

I grew up Christian believing what I was taught in Sunday School. That there were only men around Jesus. 12 Apostles.  A few women were mentioned, but weren’t given much air time in the story.  There were a lot of Marys at that time, so it was confusing.  If I had learned about the different Goddesess throughout history, I would have felt included.

Here is an interesting new video about two women historians who went to the holy land to uncover the truth about the women around Jesus.  Very powerful

I’ve been reading everything I can get my hands on.  The most convincing and story that I resonate the most is from the Anna books.

Anna, Grandmother of Jesus and the sequel, Anna, The Voice of theMagdalenes. “This story reveals missing pieces of history concerning Anna, Mary Jesus and others as channeled by Claire Heartsong.  Claire has been receiving telepathic messages from Anna for 30 years.

Told through the gentle and heartwarming voice of Anna herself, this book offers insights into unknown places the holy family visited, people they knew and intimate details of their daily struggle to complete the resurrection challenge.
